A Long and Lasting Friendship

Real friends don't need to see each other frequently to keep the friendship burning especially now that rapid advancements in communication technologies make it possible to connect with each other anytime anywhere. Everybody is just a text message or phone call or e-mail away.

Still, the thought of seeing good old friends even at least once a year makes one excited. This is how I always feel whenever my family and the families of my former officemates from Graphic Arts Service inc. (GASI) would see each other for our annual reunion, usually during the Christmas holidays. It's our way of rekindling our friendship and updating each other with the developments in our individual lives. Some share success stories, others, otherwise. Those who have not been as lucky as the others in terms of personal and professional success draw strength, hope, and inspiration from those who have been blessed with personal and professional growth.

How good to see how this friendship has blossomed and been kept intact for more than 18 years now that even our own kids have become friends with one another. Come to think of it, we have not encountered any major issue that would cause our friendship to fall apart. Yes, there were times that some had issues with others but these had always been resolved. All's well that ends well, so they say.

I only keep a handful of true friends and the friends I have from GASI will always be among the closest to my heart. I look forward to seeing all of them again next year with each one having a happy story to tell.
