When Babies Get Sick

Parents would never want their children to get sick. But we cannot prevent them from getting sick. The least we can do is provide them with immunization shots so that when certain diseases strike them, the impact on them would be mitigated.

But children are prone to other forms of afflictions or infections such as urinary tract infection, which our youngest daughter is suffering from. Last night, Charm vomited twice. We did not immediately bring her to the hospital because we put her under observation.

This morning, at around 4:30, Charm threw up again for more than three times so we decided to rush her to the nearest hospital. A check on her urine revealed that she's suffering from mild UTI. The attending physician just gave her an anti-vomitting shot but it would take effect only after four hours. If Charm will continue to vomit after that, we have to bring her back to the hospital for admission.

It has been almost four hours after her shot and she has threw up twice already. We hope after the four-hour observation, she will no longer vomit so she won't be confined. And we also hope that by tomorrow, when I go back to the hospital for the reexamination of her urine sample, the mild UTI will already be healed.

If only I could take away her suffering, I would do it.
